 St. Peter's from the North-West 1920 The Collegiate Church of St Peter in Ruthin celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2010. The Church was built by John de Grey in 1310, following the erection of Ruthin Castle by his father, Reginald de Grey, in 1282. For some time before this Ruthin had been the home of a nunnery and a priory. From 1310 S.Peter's was a Collegiate Church served by a Prior and seven priests.
